[Compensated] Interview Study - Understanding Blind people’s frontal camera experience (self.Blind)
submitted by Internal_Perception
Hello again everyone. Thank you for your participation in our previous study!
I am a Ph.D. student at Cornell Tech's Enhancing Ability Lab (NYC).

Our research groups at Cornell and the Michigan Technological University are interested in understanding Blind people’s experience with frontal facing camera interactions (Selfie-taking and video-recording) and their use in social media.

We also want to learn what are the strategies that blind people use to deal with challenges associated with features in social media apps that require them to take selfies or record themselves: things like using face filters for photos (Augmented Reality), video-calling, and live streaming.

We will be conducting a round of interviews starting the 20th of October (this week) until the first week of November. The interview will be conducted through online video conference calls in Zoom, expect it to take no longer than 1 hour. You must have your own smartphone. We also require you to have some experience with taking photos and using social media.

If you are interested, you can sign up for the study using the following link:

$1

Your identity will be kept completely anonymous if we publish the results of the study. We would provide a $15 Amazon gift card as compensation for your time. We only need a small number of participants, but we can keep you in mind for the next iteration so feel free to fill out the form if no available times work for you!

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at $1. Thank you for your time!

What level of blindness are you looking at? Most people who identify as blind are not 100% blind

They accepted me, and I'm considered low vision. I meet the requirements for legally blind in the US, however I can still make out colors and motion and light and stuff.
