a weird issue with voiceover (self.Blind)
submitted by SpeechAccomplished78
hi,
for some reason, my phone has been pronouncing the majority of punctuation symbols, including commas, periods, and other punctuation symbols that it would’ve previously ignored, regardless of my settings.
for some reason, I haven’t been able to fix it though.
does anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

I know you said you checked your settings, but just to make sure that you looked in the right place: do you have the setting in Settings -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver -> Verbosity -> Punctuation set to either Some or None? Setting it to All, or creating a custom group that doesn't ignore as much as the Some or None system groups causes that problem.

yeah, my punctuation setting is set to some.

Maybe you have an activity selected that is causing that to happen.
Use the router till you hear activities and make sure no activity is selected.
Hope that helps.

thanks, that seems to have fixed it.

Try turning VoiceOver off and on again. Make sure you are running the latest version of either iOS 14 or iOS 15.
