Which do you use when it comes to using your computers or your smart devices, magnification or screenreader? If you use both then explain how much of each. (self.Blind)

I primarily use magnification except for reading long articles or emails. But if I’m writing an email then I’d rather zoom in to see what I’m typing. I’m a stickler for typing errors and I’m no good when editing text with the screenreader.

I find the tools needed to vary depending on the platform. For windows, I use zoomtext set at 2.25-4 magnification with speech on. For Android, Galaxy Note 10+, 90 percent magnifier and 25 percent Talkback. Sometimes there is overlap. As for iOS, 90 percent voiceover and 40 percent full-screen zoom.

On a side note: Why are iOS app font sizes so small and unaffected by display settings changes?

I don't do much email now but I found using a word processor to type my emails was more efficient. I could use the spell check feature then copy & paste. Before using screen readers, it also allowed me to increase the font for extra magnification.

I’m using an screen reader, because magnification is useless in my case.

In my terminal and my editor, I just use large fonts. For Reddit, I mostly just bump up the font size because the layout is simple and accommodates that. For things with a more complex UI, I will use a screen magnifier.

I have an Android tablet that I will sometimes use Talkback on if I want to attach the keyboard cover and basically treat it as a laptop for taking notes.

I use screenreader with Braille display.

Screen-reader only, as I'm totally blind. Used a screen magnifier and inverted / negative colors for 2 years during my process of losing sight and then switched to a screen-reader once my residual vision stopped being useful for reading.
