I’m looking to buy a smart tv and would like to hear someone’s opinion on their experience with built in screen readers for accessibility. What’s the best one? How many people actually use these features?
Any and all input is appreciated.

Samsung is good as you can set it up out of the box but it’s a bit quiet.
Lg has a loud screen reader but you’ll need someone to set it up for you.
Tip:press and hold the mute or volume up button to turn on voiceguide.

Thanks for the tip. Is that for the Samsung or the LG?

Hope this is allowed but do you mind sharing how you activate talkback? Do you have to go into settings every time or is there a shortcut on the remote? Thanks.

There’s a setting on the remote to triple click the * button and it activates. It’s not too invasive for others with it on thankfully. You have to have someone sighted to help turn it on for the first time in settings > accessibility

I use a Tcl at home and I love it. I don't know if you can set it up alone.

TCL is actually the only one I’ve experienced and it is pretty easy to use.
