Frustrated with my eyebrows (self.Blind)
submitted by Nisstress
I like to keep up on my eyebrows. I’m a 21 year old girl so I don’t want to be walking around with a unibrow. Ever since middle school when I’m using the restroom I pluck any random growing eyebrow hairs as I notice them. That way they always look semi maintained and I won’t have to sit there messing with them.
I know what you’re thinking, what does this have to do with being blind or seeing impaired? Well it does let me explain.
My eyesight is progressively getting worse.
I forget what my actual eye condition is called but basically my eye muscles constricts incorrectly causing my eyesight to slowly worsen over time. I was born with normal 20/20 vision and didn’t need glasses till middle school when my sight got worse. I’m nearsighted, I can’t see things far away. For a while during middle school I never needed my glasses while I was at home. For that reason I never wore my glasses in the bathroom. My glasses wouldn’t get in the way of me seeing my stray eyebrow hairs and my sight was good enough that I could see them from normal mirror viewing distance. Now that I’m older and my sight isn’t what it used to be I can’t see my eyebrow hairs in my normal bathroom mirror. My glasses cover my eyebrows so at a glance I don’t see them. The only way I can see my eyebrows anymore is using my small magnifying mirror. Sometimes I go days to weeks without looking in that little mirror. I don’t realize it but I be walking around with hella unibrow hairs. Basically this is just a really long story about how I’m frustrated that I can’t keep using my old eyebrow routine due to me loosing my sight.
Of course there’s way more downsides to loosing my sight, my eyebrows being a very small inconvenience. But I just looked in my magnifying mirror for the first time in a long time, feeling frustrated at my brows, I just felt like venting.

What works for me is using my front cellphone camera to do my brows, you can zoom in and see the little hairs that need to go.

Well you could go to a salon if you have the money, lately I’ve just been feeling with my fingers and sort of putting my pointer and middle finger on my brows and plucking in between them to clear myself of unibrow aside from that I just let them grow because I can’t see them and I can’t afford a regular salon appointment

Considering it bothers you so much, laser hair removal might be a good option for you, especially because it’s such a small area! It looks like it’s usually $50 per treatment, and several treatments should reduce the hair in that area significantly.

For cheaper (though less long term) options, if you’re careful, you could do sugaring or hair removal cream on the area, and just do that ritual every week or so. The problem with those is that they are a bit easier to mess up.

Good luck!

I have the same problem. I have to be so close to the mirror that I can’t even use full size tweezers. So I very carefully shave the area with a single blade razor once a week. As young as you are though, you may benefit from threading or waxing. Repeated plucking of hairs makes them grow back thinner over time so it’s not as bad. I don’t grow near as thick of a unibrow in my mid thirties as I did in my teens and twenties.
