I've heard of it but haven't looked into it, honestly I'd probably not try it out unless I new it would work for me and even then I'm not sure how I'd feel about learning a completely new skill that would change my life as I knew it.

My ophthalmologist said they’re making slow but promising progress. Some of the earliest subjects who had total or near total vision can see shapes, colors, and moving objects. I have about 30% of my visual field intact, but with floaters and static in all but a small portion of what’s left. Therefore, I don’t know how much this option would benefit me becauseI can actually have a bit of functional vision. I wish they could figure out gene editing to turn on optic nerve healing.

Excited, can't wait for them to get their shit together. E-mailed them a while back offering myself up as a guinea pig, but no response. Besides, it'll be quite a few years before they get it to the point where it can replace your optic nerves altogether.
