What computer monitor size do you prefer for one-eye usage? (self.Blind)
submitted by trader2020gambler
I've got one working eye, which is corrected to close to 100% with a contact lens, minus some empty spots from glaucoma. I currently use a 27" monitor with everything set a bit larger than normal. I've been debating if it is worth upgrading to a 32". Everything is big enough now, but of course I can see less content at once. I would like to have access to more information at once which is why the 32" seems compelling but I wonder with the one eye, if I'll just be moving my eyes more and if that gets tiring.. ? I'm a tech worker / manager so on the computer all day doing calls, email, writing, etc.

Thanks

I don't think it's one size fits all, really. I can't use anything bigger than 27in. My visual field is too narrow.

I think it depends more on your visual acuity than your usable eye count. My sweet spot with 10% of sight out of one eye was 21" with a resolution of 1680x1050, though this was in 2011, before my vision became unstable, so you'll probably not find monitors with these specifications anymore. Bigger than that and I had to move my head around to read; smaller than that and it either displayed things too small or didn't have the screen real estate that I needed.

Hi, sorry for the late bump! Same issue here. I'm working with a 32 inches screen and I think its the cause of my neck pain.

Any advise on that? Did you move to a smaller screen? Thanks!

I have rp and I'm not sure i could get any use out of anything over 27 inches, but I do use multiple 27 inch monitors to lessen tabbing.
