If you register for either event your email address **will** be sold and a lovely Nigerian prince will enter your life with a truly amazing offer.

I suggest anyone who wants to attend either session register with a throwaway email. That's what I'm going to do.

I'm good with the Carroll Center. It's the company hosting the web event that added that disclaimer.

Whatever email address you use to register will probably be sold to every vendor participating in the event. That makes sense, the vendors would love to follow up their sales pitches with more ads and offers.

But what happens when the vendors sell their email lists? Soon I'm getting offers for all kinds of disability products and services. Then those second companies sell their lists and the Nigerian prince absolutely loves email lists of people with disabilities or mental illness because KaCHING!

OP, I mean absolutely no disrespect to you or to the Carroll Center. But I'm old enough to know how the world works and I'm looking out for my friends undergoing the blind experience. I'm not your enemy.

I'm still attending. I think the event will be good. Hopefully I'll learn something. But I won't give my primary email address out to any company who says it will be shared with everybody willing to buy it.
