NVDA calling everything inside the web browser “unknown” (self.Blind)
submitted by SoapyRiley
Anybody ever had this problem? At first I thought it was just my company’s website, but then I went to google and all the links there are unknown too.

happened in firefox to me once when I'd been switching screen readers. updated firefox, restarted the system, no worry.

You probably figured it out by now but if anyone else is coming across this with the same problem, I have the same thing, turn off NVDA and turn on narrator instead to check if it's A problem with NVDA or with the computer. For me it was a problem with NVDA so I had to uninstall NVDA and use narrator in the meantime to reinstall NVDA, then it stopped saying unknown and stared working again

Just another data point: I had to uninstall FireFox and reinstall it to make the unknowns go away.

A bad initialization which requires a reboot of the system or the reader.
