Here's my perspective, as someone who is totally blind and has been so since birth. I've taken shrooms once (and want to again). The feeling sensitivity was delightful, the ability to think differently--to access deeper consciousness, hold multiple thoughts and feelings and stimuli concurrently--was definitely very present and really fun. I've wondered if I was more sensitive to touch input then the regular sighted person, because my brother also took them, and he didn't seem to focus in on that as much as I felt I did, but who knows.
I did not have visual hallucinations necessarily? I hallucinated in the way that I would as a blind person, if that makes sense. Keep in mind that I took an eighth (which is relatively a lot for me--I'm very petite), so my effects were rather intense. But like, while I could not see the walls around me turning gelatinous and being populated with stalks on eyes that were coming at me and watching me from the 4th dimension, I new that experience to be true. Similar to the way that though I can't see people standing beside me, I can feel them there.
I also hallucinated my fairy queen goddess spirit guide. She appeared floating in front of my face, she was cross-legged and was wearing a crown, etc. I did not 'see' this, it was not visual information, but I definitely had that information.
Hope this explanation is helpful!

Hi, out of interest, have you ever explored the Monroe Institute’s YouTube channel? They started the remote viewing Stargate project with the CIA. I started the Gateway tapes and experienced it - no substances used

I had not heard of this until now. A quick google shows some interesting stuff. I'm definitely all about self-development and a greater understanding of the self, so this does look interesting to me! Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

They have hour long seminars covering a lot of topics, like remote viewing, and the brains of superconscious. There is one also about Autism and savants. Mentions blindness in it too. Feel free to either drop me a DM or here if you want more info. 😊

I'd like more info on the blindness part of those talks if you don't mind?

I have used LSD and Ayahuasca, and I'd say my experiences very pretty "normal", as in freakily extraordinary but within what's to be expected. Except I didn't get any visual input, but I've heard that depends on how much and for how long you were able to see before becoming blind. My guess would be that your dreams would be a good indicator for what to expect, as psychedelics have the tendency to reveal what's inside of you in a somewhat similar way. Personally, I feel like I've got a rather high sensitivity to such substances, often feeling pretty freaked out and disoriented on relatively low doses. This may be at least parcially due to my blindness because I tend to be pretty ungrounded and very much in my head in every day life. So nowadays I only use 2-CB because it's way more manageable than the classic acid or shrooms.

Yup. Acid. I had partial sight, but was blind when I took it. I could see splashes of color in my eyes, and I could see the blurry shapes in my vision distorting slightly. Much more prominent were the emotions and hallucinations. I could see foxes running around in the forest and stuff. Good fun. Also I'm pretty sure it's the reason I'm a musician now.

Yes I have and do. I'm low vision. I used to drive etc. So I have seen the world and now I don't really. Less than 5% in my "good eye" I love how psychedelics allow me to see the full color spectrum again. Objects have razor sharp edges on some psychedelics, for me. In real life everything is blurry and distorted. I think that my experience is much more similar to a fully sighted person because of my long history of being sighted.
