Audio descriptions on television ...? (self.Blind)
submitted by StrwberryShortcat
Sometimes really good movies have audio descriptions and I watch them, but the description is not adequately describing what's happening or they leave key things like looks, someone gives as a response, out... does this bother you? Is there anything I could do to help this industry?

Can you give an example of inadequate AD? Sometimes there are valid reasons for not describing something.

No, I understand that, I just think sometimes it's bad. But sometimes like if too much is already going on, I understand the reasoning. I don't have a specific example right now, but I can try to find one.

Audio description on tv is typically not good. It's much better on movies. We use the app Sero a lot and it's great! Super easy to use and has a ton of good quality tv and movie descriptions. I don't know about helping the industry but you may find ways to contact people in the audio description business and provide constructive feedback.
