My optic nerve atrophy was caused by pressure on my optic nerves caused by a blood clot behind my brain. By the time they figured it out, I was functionally blind in my left eye. The blood thinners they put me on caused an ulcer to bleed and that not only nearly killed me, but damaged my right optic nerve too. I'm legally blind with a reduced visual field and acuity caused by floaters and static in my right eye. I really do think that they are close to repairing nerve damage, so we may see better again in the future!

Hello B dub31
I'm ur still here sharing ur story. Terrible to hear. Hope your restvision stays stabil.
Yes, they are very busy testing on mice and rats with very good results.
Maybe we can start crowd funding together before they nail it.. 😂
I'm seriously hope all the people who need it at this moment can get the treatment as soon when it's there..

My optic nerve damage was caused by a giant aneurysm around 30cm x 25cm that grew from my artery leading up to my brain. The mass crushed my optic chiasm. I had a pipeline stent put in, but the mass grew about 20% before shrinking. I went completely blind about 10 days after surgery. I didn't start healing for four months. I lost most of my vision in my left eye, and have a severely restricted visual field in my right.
It sucks, but at least you're still alive.

In 1995 after having severe headaches, projectile vomiting, and changes to my visual field: blacking out when I stood up, I underwent surgery to remove a benign growth on my frontal lobe. Post op they didn’t fit me with a shunt and my sight dropped to nothing within 3 months following the surgery. They put a shunt in, but I guess the damage was done by that stage. The pressure cut off the blood supply at the back of the eyes….the bulbs are good, the wiring is shit! 😂 Wishing you well OP. 💓

Mine was damaged by inter cranial pressure caused by a pituitary tumour. Got surgery and radiotherapy about 14 years ago.
Tiny patch of light sense remaining in my left eye and a bit more in my right
