If you suspect retina detachment, it should be treated as a medical emergency.
There are other conditions that can cause those symptoms (PVD comes to mind), but if I were you, I wouldn't wait to get it checked out. If by "medical card" you're in the US and you mean Medicaid, they can backdate it 3 months prior the date you *applied* for the card.

This sounds like me.
I was short sighted before I got laser 13 years ago but the new floaters,fuzziness, eyes blurring and focusing wasn't like my previous poor vision
I went to the optician who was worried about detaching retina, urgent sent me that day to an opthamologist and I got the all clear.
It still happens, now I get a bit of double vision on screens, halos around lights and if I strain my eyes ( like physically looking as far over my shoulder as possible) I get status like on the TV and it takes ages to go away
Just wanted to say, if it's like me it's probably nothing but defo get checked when you can but dont worry
