What are the best features when purchasing Braille Assitive Technology? (self.Blind)

Hello, I've been looking at different types of assitive technology for the visually impaired and was wondering what might be the most important feature or function of a braille device people would look for when purchasing? I want to understand the different perspectives on what people find important and what might be inconvenient. Thank you so much for all of your time!

What kinds of "braille devices" are you looking at? Braillewriters? Braille embossers? Braille displays? Braille notetakers? Slates? You need to be way more specific about who you are and what you're interested in knowing to get a useful answer.

I'm a student at a university trying to gather qualitative data for a paper on the different demands or features the visually impaired tend to focus on when it comes to preferences more specifically using the devices such as refreshable braille devices, stand-alone braille display, notetakers, smart displays, and screen reading technology. I hope this information helped clarify any confusion!
