Funny sidebar, not trying to hijack your post, when I lived in Los Angeles California I had numerous famous people walk up to me and strike up a conversation. I never let them know that I could figure out who they were. My list included: Niles from Frasier, Christopher Titus, Bruce Willis, Pamela Anderson, and James Taylor.

Well done using your cane, I still get embarrassed using mine and have it mostly folded up and hidden under my arm, my sight is slowly deteriorating and I just hope I can eventually be able to use it without giving it a second thought.
