I have always wondered why we feel as if our consciousness (or self) lies in our head and/or behind our eyes. Do people with total blindness still feel this way due to other senses located in the head region or do they feel it somewhere else?(self.Blind)

For me it's all of me, I believe in an afterlife and things like that so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I think I feel it everywhere. It just exists with me. The reason we associate conciousness to the head is purely cultural.
