I think the NFB used to have a STEM specific listserv, but no idea how active it is. It's also NFB, so you're going to have that philosophy very imbued in it.

The problem is that you're talking about a subset of a subset of an already small group (BVI folks who are involved in programming). Then consider that vision impairment probably tends to skew towards older folks who are less likely to be involved with programming. So really not sure how much the community is going to grow tbh.

Sure, but that’s one of the strengths of the Internet — catering to small niches and pockets of interest that would otherwise be underserved. Plus, it’s my hope that more blind/visually impaired people realize coding can be a viable career path for them or even just hobby. It’s actually becoming increasingly accessible as a field

There is the /r/BlindDevelopers community, but it's very small and seldom gets posts, so I'm not even subscribed to it. As it stands, /r/Blind is a very small community itself, there was never a need for a community specifically for blind developers here on reddit.

There's also the $1, but registering an account there might be complicated.

That’s the one! Thank you. Bummer that the sub isn’t very active. Maybe someday it will pick up. Thanks again

Unfortunately, I don't think this yet exists. There's a very active mailing list here, however:

Hmm maybe that’s what I was thinking of, then. Thank you
