Braille keyboard is interesting (self.Blind)
submitted by DHamlinMusic
Just for the hell of it I tried the braille keyboard the other day. I typed this with it and was wondering what other’s think of it?

it's my primary input method on iOS. wouldn't use it with a qwerty keyboard available but on a touchscreen... it wins hands-down.

Normally I use the voice to text on my phone, but I had found benefits to using the Braille keyboard especially as it makes it easier to delete words quickly, as I have never gotten the hang of using the selector to highlight and delete certain parts of messages when the voice to text and autocorrect team up to making gibberish. This reply I made with the voice to text as it is very long, and well I am getting good at using the braille keyboard I am not that good with it yet. Considering that I had barely used, learned braille before fiddling with the braille keyboard 2 days ago I think I am doing pretty decently.

Oh yes, have been trying to master that since long time on Android, but keep hitting the wrong keys.

Anyone else able to comfortably type on Braille input on Android?

yes mostly. this was typed using it.

I just tried it, it works but for me it’s quite slow and my fingers keep hitting the wrong keys So I prefer typing or using voice to text.

I use it almost always on ios, the only exception being when I have something like a drink in one hand and can therefore not use both to type braille, lol. Then I use the touchscreen qwerty keyboard. But I'm using braille right now and I often use it to mud as well, been playing alter aeon as of late. I quite like it as it allows for much faster typing.

See I'm on Android and Gboard has the voice typing button right on the keyboard and the upper right corner so it's really easy to access and use, hence why I had not previously tried the Braille keyboard. But I have found the Braille keyboard to be very useful in places where the voice typing is problematic or clunky.

Ios here not a fan at all I usually use a bluetooth keyboard or I do use the regular qwerty keyboard on touch screen.
