Hi everyone! I was born with an eye condition called Nystagmus which leaves me with very little control of my eyes. They tend to shake around which leaves me with very poor vision. A lot of us with the condition are legally blind. I have recently created a podcast called the Dancing Eyes Podcast for people with Nystagmus. We talk about what life is like with the condition and share our own personal experiences. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but if anyone thinks they would find any value in this I would love for you to check it out and have a chat with me. Here a link for anyone who may be interested https://youtube.com/channel/UC80SABvgXcK0eP6-6SksymA

I subscribed.. I have a condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa, it is so surprising to know how many conditions the eye can suffer.
frankiecaputo [OP]3 points1y ago
Thanks for that! Never heard of that one what’s that like? Yeah there are so many it’s hard to keep up. Nobody I have met before has heard of Nystagmus

RP is an eye disease in which the retina is damaged leaving the person with tunnel vision or blind. It can also cause other conditions such as glaucoma.. and it is s also a feature of several other conditions. People with RP suffer from night blindness.
I'll be watching your videos to learn about your condition.. good luck!!

I personnally don't notice the fact that my eye move on their own (except for the seeing poorly part ofc), is it the same for you
frankiecaputo [OP]3 points1y ago
Only sometimes when they get bad. It doesn’t happen too much but occasionally they will go crazy and I will notice

The fun part is when mixing it with more diseases because we love challenging life right ?
frankiecaputo [OP]2 points1y ago
Ha yeah that’s the fun part. For me at least the challenge has turned me into who I am today and I gotta at least be grateful for that. I am more empathetic towards others than I might have been without the eye conditions. Do you think you have been impacted in a positive way from your eyes at all?
arond32 points1y ago
It's difficult to answer they are a part of what I am in the way that they influence my interactions with people and my options in life. In a positive way tho i'll think about it.
frankiecaputo [OP]2 points1y ago
It definitely influences my interactions w people too. Yeah let me know I’d be curious to hear your answer
