any suggestions on how to deal with cats? (self.Blind)
submitted by PaleontologistTrue74
Hello and good evening. I have two cats. There both incredibly attention/love craved animals who encircle my feet when they disire to be petted. This is a huge problem for me. I often trip over or kick them accidentally. Maked me feel super guilty. Any tips or tricks to help is appreciated.

I had them since they where both kittens. You'd think they would understand by now to avoid.

You can always do what we call the puppy Shuffle. Instead of picking your feet fully off the ground you just shuffle them across so that there's less likelihood of you stepping on them or accidentally kicking them

Thank you! And very cute name for a strange skill

LOL it's what the breeder recommended when we got our puppy because he was so teeny tiny and with my vision I would always be able to see him

Collars with bells on them?

Tried them. They take the others one off. I dont know why they do this. Might be a game to them? Idk.

Try a caller that buckles like a belt. Cats can get out of the safety collars that clip together. Also get metal name tags it adds just a little jingle.

I once had a friend who put a little bell on the collar. Didn't make a ton of noise, but just enough to hear where the cat was.

Yea sadly we tried that
These two tyrants take the others collar off. Pipe a game of flag football or something

I want to follow, my son is blind and my dog is afraid of him now because he has tripped on him lots of times.

My cat after being stepped on and kicked several time now make a little squeak every time I get close. Now I don’t run into her and she doesn’t get stepped on. So I guess just keep stepping on them.

I mean they are cats, if they get stepped on or kicked it's their own damn fault!

I had quite the same attitude with the cat of my ex‘s family, thinking she‘d eventually learn that she needs to get out of my way… How it played out is that I was walking around the house kinda anxiously, because she didn’t learn her lesson, but always bit/scratched my feet. Needless to say, I don‘t like cats that much anymore since then.

Oh no I like cats, it's just there because usually rather smart and if they don't want you to do something they don't let you do it, so if they're getting kicked or stepdaughter it's cuz they want to get kicked or stepped on or they're too stupid to realize that they need to get out of your way.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I, Hate, Cats!

Some of my relatives have them, and even though I am not scared of them, but I always try to avoid touching them or anything. You can imagine the chaos that happened when one climbed on my lap randomly. I very well wanted to throw it away, but, I was trying to avoid touching it at same time.
