Cane holder on forearm? (self.Blind)

Depending on how big the cane is when it's folded, he could use something like a water bottle sleeve with a strap that would let him wear it like a sling bag, like this one: $1

They come in a variety of sizes.

That’s an interesting idea. In fact I thought of some thing similar!

I apologize for the incorrect flair. On mobile and finding it difficult to make this post. My friend is blind and uses a cane to navigate. He often lays his cane down or puts it somewhere and then can’t remember where to find it. I was wondering if there isn’t an easier way to manage having a cane. I envisioned some sort of Velcro cane holder that would wrap around your forearm. A telescoping cane would fit inside and you could deploy the cane with the press of a button and retract it when not in use. Does this sound completely nuts? Is there anything like that out there?

A friend has a tracking tile on the cane.

Yes one of our other friends mentioned just that. I did not think of this issue until I was on my way home from visiting. So I did not have a chance to talk to my friend about what options he has considered. He is probably used to this problem and may not consider it a problem. For me I just thought there’s surely a better way

There are belt holsters. I have jeans which have a specific pattern of frayed fabric because of that.

Woah, can you send me an example of this please ? I’ve been trying to have a solution for forever and I never thought of this 😭

Interesting idea. Is your cane telescoping as opposed to folding?
DrillInstructorJan 1 points 1y ago
No, it's a normal folding one. The telescoping ones are too flimsy, I think. Ambutech does a whole tool belt style thing which is a bit much for me, I don't want to be carrying batman's utility belt, but the ones I've had are just fabric pouches that you just dump the cane into when it's folded up. I don't know what your background is but I wasn't always in the position of needing one and the issue of constantly carrying it around and having to spend valuable time folding and unfolding is a real nuisance to me so I wouldn't want to make that worse by having to put it in a bag. Girl clothes don't help as they're often not very belt holster amenable. I am jeans girl.

I was given what is basically a denim sleeve with a hook that clips onto a pocket or belt. There's definitely cane holsters out there.

Yes i use the holster witch is better than the holder
It sits better on my belt
In the holder my cane sits higher and is uncomfortable

That’s creative for sure. Yeah, the closests thing to that is a cane holster. That’s interesting though.
