Wasn’t paying attention because I was walking next to a parked car on the sidewalk and every time I get close to those car mirrors, I’m always extra cautious.
I saw the guy walking toward me but I didn’t know he had a tiny dog with him. I was trying not to bump into him. Looked down just as my shoes made contact with the dog and my heart dropped.
I didn’t kick the dog and it wasn’t hurt, but it was definitely startled. The guy was chill about it and even said sorry. I told him I was so sorry about three times and then we awkwardly parted ways.
I didn’t have time to explain to him. I just kept saying sorry over and over. I feel so bad right now. I know it’s not that big of a deal but this is the first time something like this has happened to me.
I feel so bad.

I have tripped over toddlers before, also tiny old ladies. :(

I mean, if it makes you feel any better … I ran over a guide a dog with my shopping cart in the grocery store. Myself is visually impaired. I just saw the lady and not the dog. So I think I won a one way ticket to hell I’m sure.

The irony.

Even though I have some usable vision tiny dogs especially on very long leashes and small children especially riding trunkies are incredibly dangerous.
I actually fell over a small toddler last week and felt absolutely terrible but thankfully the father was very nice about it as he had been telling his child to get out of the way. It was incredibly awkward and highlights again the dangers of being in an airport with rolling suitcases children riding trunkies, toddlers wandering around and dogs on long leashes.
Even before I lost most of my vision I remember having an argument online with parents who thought children riding this tiny suitcases on leashes was such a wonderful idea. I have seen several adults follow over them in airports including a woman who appeared to have broken her leg once in Germany after tripping over a child on a leash riding a tiny suitcase.
I think even people with normal vision they don't expect to have that around their ankles in airport.

I've actually ran over a small dog's back legs while on a bicycle.
It came out of its yard that was completely rowed by bushes as me and my dog biked by. I had no way to know it wasn't leashed or contained in the yard until it was UNDER my tires. I didn't just hit it, I know I fully ran over it's legs with the front bike tire but managed to brake before my back tire did.
It was okay, like it immediately got up and was going nuts at my dog still. didn't seem to even notice I just ran it over.
I of course apologized profusely to its owners who came out after it. Apparently they had just moved in which was why I didn't know to watch that yard for their dog. I lived just up the street and so I pointed out my house, told them if it started limping later and had to see the vet to let me know and I'd pay them back. Never heard anything more about it so I guess I managed to get lucky and hit a dog that just shook it off.

i guess dogs are built different

That obviously isn't my proudest moment. I don't make it a habit to flatten little pug-huahuas.

Almost?
Na, that's nothing. I have stepped on one, have ran my bicycle in to one, and, once even jumped out of a ground flore balcony on to a dog who was sleeping at my usual landing place.
Obviously, I didn't do any of that intentionally, and, I did feel bad about it, but, the government and people in general somehow are in favor of preserving streat dogs, even though it's a massive safety hazard.
I really wish if they started sterilizing those streat dogs and getting rid of them quickly and made the streets dogs-free. Just recently some dog in my area got some crazy disease and he went on to biting 4-5 people.
Edit: I just once had an accident with a really small child, apparently, he was running towards me, and, I couldn't get out of the way quickly enough. Felt bad even though it was technically not my fault. Same thing also happened while a grown up man was running towards me, thank god I am a stronger and stable guy, I didn't fall, but the guy crashed in to me, and fell.

oh wow. sitting on a dog is my greatest fear. i almost did it when i was about 10 and my uncle’s dog liked to sit on chairs and curl up on pillows.

Just yesterday I stepped on my cat. He’s still mad at me and causing a ruckus today.

I don’t remember kicking any dogs, but I did run over a small child while ice skating. I felt bad about that one, being at least twice their size, and with it being less obvious I couldn’t see well (can’t exactly use a white cane while skating), but no one was seriously hurt (I don’t think the child even cried).

I don't think the toddler I almost crushed cried, I think he actually laughed. Mum, Dad, and toddler actually ended up in the aisle across from me on the flight and he was happy all the way through. And Dad laughed it off, thankfully.

Doesn’t sound like a great big deal. Don’t worry so much about it, blind people do accidents like this all the time.
