Please help really weird and irritating issue with VoiceOver on iPhone (self.Blind)
submitted by autistictechgirl1990
Hi I have an iPhone 7 with the latest iOS version. The other day I updated to the version before the very latest one, my VoiceOver was fine but then all of a sudden about two days ago it started saying_before every single letter and every single number. When I dictate it doesn't say it, and the way around it is to put everything in CapsLock but I shouldn't have to do that. I asked someone who is fully cited to see if it was underlined and it isn't. I can't see how I caught anything I thought the bug would be fixed with this latest version of iOS but it hasn't. I've tried restarting the phone restarting VoiceOver I've been through all the settings and I just don't know what I have done
And when I'mediting and have to go back through the letters it's also doing it, but everything else seems to read as normal. Please help me fix this it is extremely irritating

I read a tip yesterday that this was caused by turning on the caption panel while using a vocalizer voice. The solution is to turn that off in VoiceOver settings. I've never had it on personally so don't encounter this.

Turn off the caption panel in the VoiceOver settings or change the voice you are using to fix this.

it's so fluffing infuriating! I've had my caption panel on for months and my voices have all been set up from before then probably too. Why now? It's worth a shot, but the caption panel is quite useful for explaining to sighted people what VO tells me.
My best friend also uses it because she has a small amount of usable vision and uses VO for a few things, and the combo works fairly well.
What a total PITA!
I'll try disabling caption panel and see if the flipping thing sorts itself out.
Thanks!
