How do blind and visually impaired people go shopping? (self.Blind)

I pay people to do my shopping for me. It's easier than screwing around trying to do it myself.

I even pay my VA to put in an online grocery delivery order for me, as it just makes financial sense to do so. He charges 1 hour @ $5/hour, whereas if I did it myself I'd lose out on ~3 hours of work @ $50/hour. Plus screwing around with those Javascript heavy grocery shopping portals via screen reader is beyond frustrating.

Sorry but we have put a hold on survey and research requests for the time being.

I shop at an Asian Mart mostly! They have lots of pictures on the front that I can use AND the grandma who runs the store where I am, helps me pick out things if needed! (I always go at rlly slow hours.) It’s also very small and easy to memorize where things are.

Shopping in a different country or store is hellish for me because with my limited vision I am used to picking out the same products. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my hair the last few days until I realized that I must have purchased the wrong kind of shampoo correct brand but wrong type.
Shopping for clothing is no longer fun because it is impossible to read labels to see content et cetera.

And sone shops in some countries like Canada which went completely insane in the last 2 years scream at me if I dare to touch the clothing.

Need to be able to touch products in order to determine if I want to wear them and I can go happily around my favorite shops in Europe and touch to my heart's content.

What is also frustrating is trying to read prices in places that make it so difficult so shopping for instance for fruit and vegetable in my local market is easy because the signs and the prices are nice and loud.
Again in Canada it is crazy because although they use the metric system I think that they price in pounds which doesn't make any sense to me so I have no idea the cost of something which is already super high there.

Moral is shop online or shop in a country that is not insane
