Helping my blind grandfather (self.Blind)
submitted by whitlow_running
My grandfather has had macular degeneration for quite some time now and it has progressed to the point where he cannot see unless something is very up close in one eye. I’ve been trying to help with his TV (quite a frustrating experience, that microphone sucks) and he explained that he wishes he could still watch racing (he raced motorcycles) but the only way he can is if someone is explaining what is happening, more in depth than what a broadcaster would. Is there anything that exists in this world that does such a thing?

It would be cool if there was audio description for this stuff.

For the rest of his t.v. Watching have you guys tried audio description?

I’m confident that a motorcycle race narrator exists somewhere. I’m not quite sure what channel you’d have to find, or if there’s a particular online streamer that talks about racing, but I’ll save this and let you know if I come across anything.
