Before my fiancée and I lived together, (and I only had sight in one eye and low vision in the other), I used to walk or bus across the city to come and meet her any chance I could as we were both very busy - or she would kindly just drive and we would have a nice adventure anywhere we went. When I lost my sight in both eyes due to retinal dystrophy, in both eyes, she began to help me adapt by taking me on walks, or out to do daily tasks, or to go eat, or see family and friends, etc. Of course, we lived together when that happened. We have been together almost four years now and are due to tie the knot in 2023. Anything is possible with strength of will. A true bond of love is the greatest blessing of all.

I suppose like how one did it before you had a car (at least where I'm from people don't get their own cars till 23+)

In the states it seems people have cars from 17.

Meet at a landmark, the cinema, the restaurant etc. Pay the bill etc. I mean even with 2 sighted individuals you could be meeting someone who lives an hour away, are you really gonna drive to collect them and drop them home if they don't live relatively near?

I also prefer certainly in the early stages of not having to rely on my date to be my transport. I like to have an exit strategy if I so wish.

For our first date my husband and i met out at an establishment that i could gst to on the bus. After that he would drive us. If i want to take him out i just ask him if i can take him on a date and he drives while i pay lol.
