Car sickness remedy (self.Blind)
submitted by notjoplin
My friend’s husband has a condition where he has been losing his sight since he was a teenager. He is now in his 50s and has very little sight left, if any(sorry, I don’t know specifics). Recently, he has been unable to ride in a car, even short distances (5-10 miles) because of car sickness. He has tried various meds but they just make him sleepy. Are there any other solutions?
Thank you, dear people of Reddit!

I have not dealt with car sickness to that extent, but I have found that the right sunglasses go along way. Something dark and polarized is very helpful to cut out glare. I like Oakley's Prizim black lens or Spy's polarized black happy lens. They will both also help boost contrast which is nice to have!

I eat some candied ginger about 20 minutes before I go. And then eat a little every time I start to feel a little queasy . I have always got car sick if I didn’t drive. (I guess I have control issues) but now that I am blind it is so much worst.

Eating peppermints and squeezing the p6 pressure point work for my husband.
