Will wearing an eyepatch while attending University cause problems? (self.Blind)
submitted by Sea-Field-6653
Hi, 22M with alternating exotropia from birth, no depth perception and monocular vision in one eye at a time. If I have a fixed point to gaze at I can consciously switch the eye I am viewing out of while the other turns into blur. While moving around in day to day life and socialising the alternation is completely involuntary and switches depending on the most efficient eye to use, causing me stress and disorientation while looking quite ugly in the process.

I'm not going to whine about how it's effected my life so to get to the point, I have begun wearing an eye patch because I find it helps me focus and know exactly what I am looking at while eleviating most of the anxiety that comes with such condition. This was the only solution I could think up to my life long problem of being looked at differently while viewing the world literally differently.

As someone who plays music in two local bands, I already publically incorporate the eyepatch into my outfit, but something about wearing it at University or in the professional world makes me stress and wonder if the eyepatch idea was a feasible idea after all.
Any and all advice and words are appreciated
