Our 2 long term hits were a yellow lamaze octopus where each tentacle had different texture and a simple floppy zebra/possibly cow soft teddy

Not sure about braille, unless it is like lego bricks braille and just letters for that age group.

Majority of blind children (80+%) aren't fully blind but are legally blind so strong contrasting colours like black white red and bold yellow work well
