Hello! I have very poor vision from stargardts and am looking for a couple magnafiers. I'm looking for suggestions on a desktop digital book magnafier and also suggestions for a eye glass mounted option. I am looking for a good option like the ocutech products but I have no ocutech prescribers near me. I am needing something with a solid field of view and focal length out to arms reach and a little further. I have yet to see any other solutions. I only see cheap crap for ten bucks that don't do anything amd have terrible depth of field anr such or pieces such as from ocutech that are thousands of dollars which I would be happy to pay but they are gatekept behind a prescriber which I understand. For context, I need to be able to work in a woofshop. Spotting a tape measure or a line ive scribed without putting my face in front of blades is the goal here.

I don't know how high-tech you're looking to go. I use an Amigo HD portable CC TV as my primary magnifier at home. I also use it when I go out to eat and all of that fun stuff.

Have you checked into a Low Vision Assessment to see what kinds of tools might help? Some places may also help with funding for the equipment as well.

I live on the side of a mountain out in the middle of no where. Its an option but I need to coordinate a ride and also an appointment and a lot of juggling goes into that

Why not learn to do woodworking totally blind. I think the nfb teaches this.
