What are the early signs of vision loss? (self.Blind)
submitted by CarlyLouise_
I take steroid drops and have been on them going on 3 weeks now multiple times a day and I’m noticing my vision is getting worse (blurry, all lights are more fuzzy), even though my eyes look better (less red and inflamed) I was wondering what’s the early signs of vision deterioration? (I’m 22f) thank you (diagnosed blepharokeratoconjunctivitis) I was told by the doctor I will have vision loss

Well...not being able to see things you could before, really.
For me it was street signs, I started realizing I could no longer read signs I was able to at one point.

Then my peripheral vision started closing.

Then my right eye always looked like I was looking through foggy glasses.

And that's just where I am now, the peripheral is pretty much gone and the "foggy spot" gets a little bigger all the time.

I would say a surefire sign of vision deterioration is headache, eye strain and exhaustion at vision-centric activities. One of the earliest signs for me was that I was beginning to find videos difficult to watch.

Yes. I have quickly learned the difference between looking at something and seeing something. If I just stare blankly at my monitor while I’m using my screen reader I’m good but if I actually lean in, squint and try to see anything at all on that monitor I will quickly end up with a headache

I would make sure that this is not temporary or just actually the side effects of that medicine.

For me, it was rainbows around lights indicated to me something was up. Don’t panic though, just tell your ophthalmologist and they can likely help you out.
