Does anyone know if SSDI will accept typed responses rather than writing them out on their forms? I got a form from them recently and my handwriting is terrible and they didn't provide enough space. Would they accept my responses if typed?

I actually typed longer answers on a separate document. I included the number, question and then my response. In the space they allocate for the longer answers, I wrote please see attached.
I have very arthritic hands that like to spasm so you can imagine my writing. I make it clear in my answers that my disability is causing me to be unable to simply fill out the form. Plus I'm visually impaired which makes it even harder to write.
I then contacted SSDI after a week to make sure that everything arrived and that includes my attached answer sheets.

Yes they accept typed responses!
I have issues with writing by hand. I typed all my answers out separately from the forms, just denoting the question number and letter before each answer, then signing the actual forms at the end.
Make sure you contact your SSDI contact though and let them know you will be doing this so it's noted in your file. You can also get up to 30 days extension time(sometimes given in 15 day increments).

Yes just make sure you include your name, address, account info, and any Identification info usually included on their forms near the top of the page and make sure to sign the bottom by hand

As long as you are able to type them into the form it should be ok! But you will need to sign, not type, your signature

It would be typed separately from the form.
They want it by the 24th or they will make a determination based on what they have. Still waiting for large print version of firm to get here.

If you have a contact for your local office you can do most of those forms over the phone.

I could try that, but it is a real PITA getting a hold of them. I did leave a nsg with the ppl that sent the form and explained about not getting large print version yet.

Yeah I did my review over the phone with them last spring cause despite my saying I did not read braille they sent braille forms…
