Legally blind people of Reddit, what do you do to prevent yourself from falling asleep at inappropriate times if you aren’t exactly “seeing anything” or having the experience of “keeping your eyes open” to stop drifting off?? (self.Blind)

😂😂😂😂....I laugh because I have so many stories. I thought this was just a me thing honestly. But I have so many stories of falling asleep at the worst times. I don't have a solid solution other than maybe take a nap if you can right before said important thing. Or use a shock collar (joking obviously). It happens to me allll the time.

Omg wow!! I was worried this was a bad question to ask but thank you for your honest and helpful reply. It’s really interesting to me!! I work night shifts and sometimes the only thing that keeps me awake is to force my eyes open haha lol - that’s kind of where my question stems from!!

Yeah sometimes I fall asleep In the movies, or in tye dark, or just sitting at a restaurant because for me there is nothing to look at.

That’s unfortunate!! I would be the exact same though. I sleep so much and get tired very fast haha some days I can even sleep upto 12h 😂

Is this another animals in the zoo question? I assume that you aren't visually impaired if you are a paramedic.

Why would having limited vision equate to falling asleep?

It was just a question buddy! I meant it respectfully.
