They work great to help you differentiate between similar-sized containers. For example, I put one on the shampoo bottle so I can tell it apart from the conditioner.

I do this on spice jars as well. If you want something that lasts longer and survives the dishwasher, use zip ties.

That's a tip I tell many of my clients, but I also remind them to check do a comparison check if it is particularly sensitive stuff (such as medication). Over time, elastics can degrade and snap (usually under excessive tension)

Certainly one of many ways to do it for sure. Labeling is another good ways different type jars or containers helps. Tearing off the label of the jars helps if one has a label and one doesn’t. There are a lot of ways. Putting a dot on one also helps if you don’t have to wash it.
