A couple of NVDA questions regarding speech settings (self.Blind)
submitted by Mind101
Hey there. My father uses NVDA pretty much fluently, but there are two things we're currently not sure about he'd like answers on.

1. Is it possible to have NVDA announce every key on the keyboard you press, not just letters? So it should say shift or tab or caps lock each etc, each time you press those. Is there a setting or keyboard shortcut for this?

2. In Word 2013, NVDA keeps prefacing any word the grammar checker deems wrong with "grammar error" He uses int in Croatian, so this happens much more often than it would in English. I've already disabled everything to do with underlining supposed mistakes and checking grammar in general, but the problem persists. Any ideas?

Thanks!

1. The closest you have is speak command keys, on preferences, keyboard.
2. Try going to preferences, document formatting, and uncheck spelling errors.

I'll pass along suggestion 1, but I believe I did 2 already the last time I was over at his place to no avail.

I’ve not used word in years, but it’s probably a word thing instead of an NVDA thing. Unfortunately, there might not be a way to disable that.
