Favorite backup cane? (self.Blind)
submitted by SoapyRiley
I’m traveling to NYC this summer and want a backup cane to take with me that’s lightweight and doesn’t take up a ton of space, but also not likely to break if something happens to my daily driver (graphite folding Ambutech with ceramic tip) early in the trip.

What have been your favorites?

i mean I just use Ambitech graphite folding in 6 sections that is pretty compact. Have you looked at their Slimline canes in 6 sections?

Their slimline was my first cane. My dog broke the 8mm tip screw part off by stepping on it. If you know of a way to fix that, I’m all ears. That would save me a bundle of money and reuse what I already have.

If you call ambutech they can send you the replacement part you may have to pay for it but but they don’t have to send you the entire cane. then you can take apart the cane and fix it.

Sorry no idea on fixing that :(.

The 6 section mobility canes are much lighter and shorter when folded than the 5 section ones.

Check out the telescoping canes out there, they are my every day use cane, and they’re about 14 inches long when collapsed for a 63 inch. I’m 6 foot tall, so if you need a shorter cane, the collapsed length will be shorter.

Oakley makes high quality sports sunglasses that stay on very well.
