$1Photo description: A small, stained glass, abstract flower made of 6 glass pieces in two shades of green, cut into diamond shapes and soldered together. There's a red circle in the center of the flower, atop the green leaves. A thin gage silver wire is coming up from the middle of the flower, curving over it, with a yellow glass bead suspended on the end.
Some context:
I've been creating art for as long as I can remember. I studied art and design in university and started out my adult life as a graphic designer, before a career shift to software engineer. As my functional vision has gotten a bit worse over the years, I stopped doing a lot of drawing and painting.
Recently, though, I've discovered stained glass and, with good lighting in the work room, I can see to do it! This is only my third small project and I've only been at it for few days now in total, but I'm really enjoying it. I'm starting to get better at cutting the glass where I want to and my solder lines still aren't the cleanest, but they're getting better, too.
So now I guess I have a new expensive hobby.
