Against all odds, and without any assistance, I Received a b in calculus.(self.Blind)
submitted by blind_system
1. I had to convert my own books into an accessible format, including figuring out my own script for Pandoc.
2. I had to learn to use a computer algebra system on my own, because no-one else at my university knew how to.
3. The university did not provide any assistance for my tests. The teacher had already seen my work and what I could do, and decided to exempt me. There wasn't anything else me and him could've done.
4. I had to convert and print my own homework.
Just because things aren't accessible, it doesn't mean you should simply give up and back down. Hopefully this is good inspiration for some of you.

My country has no equivalent to the ADA, BTW.

Which country is that, that sounds like an awful process but you did it and you scraped by. Which is great. Sounds tough though.

I will pay you legit money for that algebra program!! Currently suffering in my own math course for algebra!! I was exempted from all “high level” math in HS but now I need it for college but i don’t know how to start beyond the PDF textbook given me.

Do you live in the US?

Yup!

What accommodations do you have in college now? Just curious since they've given you a PDF of a textbook lol
thatawkwardcosplayer2 points1y ago
None Really? I was told it didn’t qualify for accommodations bc it was online (Rona) my prof just prefers PDFs!

ah, very good bro.
I remember when I was doing regression and multiple regression for my economics graduation. It was hard! and half of the time, besides following certain layed down steps, I didn't know what on earth I was doing. Yup, didn't study calculous before in high-school, so have to learn it for economics, in college.
