CVI (self.Blind)
submitted by Dry_Director_5320
Does anyone have experience with cortical visual impairment? Reading the symptoms, this seems to be the most similar to what I experience with my vision but have not been able to pin down what is wrong with my sight with a doctor. Does anyone here have this condition, know more about it, or have any experience with getting it diagnosed?

May I suggest a neuro-Ophthalmologist? This exactly the type of issues they deal with. They’re highly specialized though so you may have to trave to see one.

I have right homogeneous Hemianopsia, caused by cerebral hemorrhage in the occipital lobe.

But like others have pointed out there are a lot of conditions when you are talking about the brain and nervous system.

See a neurologist.

CVI has a massive range of symptoms, because it is damage to the brain, rather than eyes or optic nerves.

If you think you have it, you should see a neuro-opthamolgist or a neurologist. They can run scans to check your brain.

I have seen three doctors and none of them agree with the others. This is so frustrating! It is however two against one as to the benefit of surgery. I suggest very strongly that you find someone to give you a thorough examination. Before you go try and find out as much about the ophthalmologist as you can. I never thought an eye diagnosis would be so Subjective.

This is my biggest issue. I live in the US and live paycheck to paycheck. I simply can’t afford to go through doctors like that, or even see ONE regularly. I see them during crisis situations, which doesn’t help much. It’s insane that I can’t get any answers, after 20 years
