It’s hard being stuck. (self.Blind)

A couple days ago a family member told me we were traveling, but when I got home today I found out we weren’t going anymore. I got my hopes up, I was really excited to go and see my family. Since I’ve moved into my new place a couple months ago I’ve been going to the same three places. I feel like I’m stuck and it’s so hard trying to figure all this out. I’m an introverted person and I have no one to talk to.

Could you get more mobility training. Or more independent living skills.
I was an introvert until I developed social skills and I am an extrovert. I had extroverted tendencies but didn’t know how to do it as a teenager.
Maybe find someone at school or work to socialize with?
Can you explore the city and go more places on your own?

I’m learning how to use my cane at school. As for friends, it’s kind of hardt when your the quiet gay kid. I am trying to make Internet friends, but we all know how that can go. It’s a hit or miss lol.

Have you checked out the sub’s discord server? But yeah I know how that can be, was not blind in HS or the gay guy but basically had no friends, it's not that fun I realized in more as I got older.

Is just a chat about whatever type place for the most part, idk how else to describe it, I mean people do other things there of course. Like yesterday I think there were chats about music, timezones being awful, life, etc

I am 18, still a senior in high school with no money, and I’m still living with my family. I just can’t go down there by myself. The family members we were going to go see, we don’t talk to them often. It was kind of like a special occasion meet up.

I can see how it's disappointing, I wasn't trying to diminish that, I was just wondering if there was a way that the first family members could get you as far as the bus/train/plane and the second group meet you as you disembark.
Obviously if there are transfers etc that could be tricky, and maybe a non runner.
Maybe there is no public transport to them either.
I'd be heartbroken too
