StitchFix (self.Blind)

Curious, has anyone used StitchFix at $1 ?

Just kind of stumbled onto it while researching for something else. Seems like this would be quite good for a blind person. Answer 100+ questions about yourself and personality, and in turn a stylist picks out clotes for you.

Has anyone used them yet? Any experiences to share would be greatly appreciated before I decide to buy.

Oh, and quick story suitable for /r/blind. We're having some restoration work done on the house due to water damage, and there's a crawl space in the laundry room. Kind of like a large tile in the floor you can remove, and it drops down about 3.5 feet into the crawl space. Couple days ago the guys were here doing their thing, and the crawl space was open. I didn't notice because I'm blind, so went out for a cigarette and sure enough down I went. Now I have a couple broken ribs to tend with. Lovely.

I'm sighted but I've used stitch fix. I really liked my picks and kept both boxes.
However, they're very expensive for clothes that are Ross or Marshall's quality.
r/businessfashion occasionally has coupon codes for $100 off your first box.

Sorry to hear about your ribs- that's unacceptable that the opening was left unmarked, whether you're blind or not.

Ouch! I’m sorry to hear about your run-in with the crawlspace! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Before the pandemic I was considering something like stitch fix, but now I work from home exclusively and frankly I just have no need for formalwear or especially stylish clothing. Maybe it’s also that I’m in my 40s, married and I’ve gotten kind of lazy on the fashion front lol. If I was still going into a physical office or I was about 20 years younger and hitting the clubs on the weekends, I would probably hit that up for sure. I’ve always wanted somebody to just tell me what’s cool so I can throw it on my body and not have to think about it haha

I'm not blind, but I used to get stitch fix. I loved it. Some of my favorite go-to clothes are from them. I only stopped because I lost my job in the pandemic and then put on a lot of weight. Now I have a job again and once I lose the weight I plan on starting back up. It can be expensive though.

Sorry about the injury that doesn’t sound fun.

Also not sure your gender, but I wonder if they are more geared towards men or women in particular? I think I had the impression they tend to focus more on women’s fashion, and as a guy, well, yeah. That perception could be completely wrong though

I don't know what the balance is, but I've been seeing a lot of ads for StitchFix lately specifically to promote that they have plenty of options for men. Like they are aware of the perception that it's mostly for women and are trying to address it. It could still be true that it's like 70/30 in favor of women's clothing, but that's most stores too haha.
