Monitor size advice? (self.Blind)
submitted by L-ectric
So I have a Macbook and an looking to buy an extension monitor for home use. I'm usually scaling up the UI and enlarging text a lot as well as sitting pretty close to the screen.

Can anyone recommend a good size of screen? Something where I can make the text big enough to read (without magnifying in and out constantly) whilst still f begging able to fit a good account of info on screen at once? I notice that when I enlarge text too much on certain websites, it cuts certain elements off

Would ultrawide sizing be of any benefit here? And without using 1440p or 4K matte a difference to usability?

Thesis.

Have you tried reducing the resolution? I'm using a 32" LED monitor. It's capable of 4K, but I have it set to 1080p. I find I don't need to zoom in hardly at all.

I have it set to 720p right now. Been teaching it with my 48 inch TV but it's a Kittie big for me to sit close to.

I know what you mean. I had been using a 55inch TV prior and I sat within 2 or 3 feet with it set at 1080p and still needed to magnify certain things. I moved off it and bought the 32inch so I could sit as close as I need to w/o needing to zoom in on anything.

It's juggling act for sure

A couple of friends of mine have 27 and 32 inch monitors so I'll see if I can maybe test with there's.
