You can solve every single blind problem in the world, but if whatever you're having the problem with isn't maintained, enforced, or agreed upon - it won't make a bit of difference.
For example: The Sidewalk. You can design a perfect sidewalk. Right width. Right curbs. Right bench placement. Everything. Then someone comes along and parks an 18-wheeler across it because they have to unload something somewhere nearby, and they've never thought about a single disability requirement in their life. Now, not only is the sidewalk blocked, but there's a dangerous impediment that could seriously harm anyone attempting to walk down the sidewalk.
That's the overlooked problem, random people. Your pregnancy strips don't work when the possibly pregnant mother of 3's toddler gets to them and eats them because they were left out on the counter without a child safety container.
It's great when products are designed right for blind people, but it's also great when they're designed so that they people that help blind people don't instantly fuck it up because they're tired and now they have to help a blind person. They don't know what the product is and how to operate/maintain it, so they're going to poke and prod at it. If it can be broken or screwed up, they'll figure out a way.
