Is there a way to get subtitles on YouTube videos to be read out loud? I use an iPad/iPhone and the YouTube app if it matters. Im thinking of for things like, when someone speaks another language in the video, but there are English subtitles…which I can’t see.
Also on the topic of YouTube, is there an easy way to get from a video you’re watching back to the list of videos in your search? I feel like finding the collapse video button is a huge pain in the neck dragging my finger around in voiceover and hoping for the best. Is there a better way?

This is one of the frustrating things about the Youtube app. Apple has done a lot to make subtitles accessible, including on many streaming services, except Youtube. Netflix, Hulu, even some relatively small companies which cater primarily to the Asian market can display subs in Braille, or speak them, or both, but youtube doesn't support this. It's irritating.

Yeah, super frustrating.

The only time I’ve seen this feature was on a video player on windows so I’m not really sure how you would get this working on the stock YouTube app unfortunately

I have a similar question, but regarding windows pc and youtube on android. Is there any solution to read subtitles on such platforms?

There's got to be a better thing for subtitles!
Have heard that some blind peeps managed to get it working on potplayer, but, that's for offline videos.

The Collabs video button is always on the top left of the video player it’s very easy to find if you just go to the top left with your finger

and you can quickly get to that button (or just the top of the screen in general) with a two-finger swipe up then swiping to the left

Ooh, I didn’t know that, thanks! I was trying to do the Z gesture to go back, but of course that didn’t work. I don’t suppose there’s an equally easy way to find the skip ads button?

Yeah, at least while in landscape mode change your rotor to containers and two finger swipe up to get to the top then swipe down to the video title container, then swipe left two or three times for skip ads button
