With NVDA, if I copy text, is there a hotkey to read said c opied text from my clipboard out loud? (self.Blind)
submitted by ChipsAhoiMcCoy
I'm playing a game called Path of Exile, which doesn't support text to speech, however it is possible to copy item information to your clipboard, so what I'm wondering is, is it possible to have NVDA read whatever is copied to my clipboard out loud natively?

Thanks guys! New to NVDA, still figuring stuff out.

insert+C (or capslock+C, depending on your modifier of choice.)

Wait, PoE is accessible? I played that on console before going blind be would not have guessed that.

Oh no, it definitely is not accessible my friends are graciously guiding me through the game because they know how much I loved it when I had good vision I have 2000 hours in this game and most of those were from a timer I could kind of play and it’s just really hard to give this game up because I loved it so much I would never say it is accessible for someone who is fully blind though although with this latest patch the controller support that was added does make it a lot easier for someone who is blind to plant for example, you no longer have to click loot with a mouse cursor but you can just push a button to pick the loot up although I guess you have already experienced the game on a game pad since you played it on Consol I think it’s roughly the same it’s just that that same input method made its way to PC now and it has enabled me to put in more builds since there is a feature but I’m sure you were familiar with that auto targets as opposed to manually targeting with a mouse but yeah, there are still plenty of things that are not accessible at all but I have found some workarounds like copying item details and reading them from my clipboard is some thing I discovered today that at least helps me read items in the game which is nice

ah makes sense, I was trying to imagine how it would be doable with like audio description and such, which would not work at all. I played on and off about 3 years back on Xbox.
