Recommendations for Russian Language audio player for newly blind grandmother (self.Blind)
submitted by librarybound
Hello,
My grandma has been slowly losing her sight, and now she is completely blind. She used to love reading and now listens to audio books and the radio. She has my uncle and another care-taker but she really wants to be able to independently play things whenever she wants. I was looking up accessible devices she could use, but it seems like a lot of them have small buttons and seem very complicated (like the victor reader stream). Another limitation is that she is Russian-speaking and does not know English well. We were trying to set up Siri in Russian on her ipad, but Russian Siri is TERRIBLE. It was nearly impossible to get it to play anything. Keeping in mind that she is 93 years, not tech savvy, and can't navigate small buttons, does anyone know of any really simple audio players that can play internet radio and her Apple audiobooks?
I know this is a super specific request, but any guidance is super appreciated!
Thanks!
