There are tons of medical conditions that can cause vision loss and having a disability being treated like that is terrible and can take a serious toll on mental health. Just because u can't see a disability doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I'd reassure them that you believe them and prob tell the other teachers to stop being dickwads

I would be HIGH-KEY by this. Stand up for her. Talk to the student and staff indevidually and evaluate the situation. See how the student feels and the staff member. Make it clear to the staff that that is NOT acceptable to joke about. That is bs.

Sounds really insenstive and I would be upset too. Sounds like a lot of bullying and super not cool.

I was bullied like that by teachers not about my vision but that I wasn’t trying when I was or when I was the super responsible hard working student. Sometimes vision teachers can be bullies too a lot of it. My aid apparently I heard this through the blind community this woman then spread some false roomors about me being a drama queen or something which is so silly and apparently before he graduated would also bully him and made it out that he was stupid and I was so much better because i was independent. Could. He be more independent sure but you don’t do it by bullying them and saying that I had another student before you and you’re stupid and lazy. And she did so much.

So yeah, this is bullying.
