What exactly does light perception look like? Can you see the outline of rooms? (self.Blind)

That would be a bit of shadows real light perception and I was this for a long time is literally just being able to look up sense a light is on and that’s about it. No outlines, no shapes no colors nothing is light on or off. Yes no. That’s it. Is the sun out or did it go away? And it’s night time? Is it light or dark. That’s light perception. I was totally blind but had that for a while.

Was it useful. Not really I guess I could tell if you flashed a flashlight in my eye if the sun was out, if the lights were on. Towards the end and for many years it was just sun and really bright lights and they had to be close to my eye. At that point I wasn’t sure if it was warmth or light. But I can’t see light anymore. I still do but it’s my mind now.

Yeah I would not even know where to begin trying to explain this. Hard enough to comprehend it myself sometimes.

True mine was very simple it wasn’t useful at least for me, and I didn’t know it was gone until it was but I can’t truly tell for many years because of my eyes and maybe brain. My brain see phantom lights. I can close my eyes and in seconds I could see lights especially if I am explicitly thinking about it. And the flashlight thing sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t because if I feel warmth my brain will see light.

It was not until the doctor shined a flashlight in my eye that wasn’t warm and it’s like nope I can’t see it. Didn’t know when I lost it precisely.

I did an oral cancer exam recently and apparently it was a really bright light the confirmation was couldn’t see it. It wasn’t warm.

I have some LP in my left, but cannot see the source straight on in the least, can up close when it's in my peripheral, though the amount of light I actually see is inconsistant at best. My right is NLP officially though I am not entirely sure that's right, it's pretty damn close to be sure, and still no central vision at all.

That’s interesting. I couldn’t see anything but the light and if it existed and no more. Just there is some light there was like one of those light detectors.

Google mate. Don't take that long to find this information out. Not my condition btw, my condition is an optic nerve one. And I don't have the spoons to explain today. $1.

Edit: Also, this is a very specific question you are asking, if you're asking for yourself or a loved one who was newly diagnosed with vision loss, then there are some resources available to help with adapting to a new way of life. I don't need specific location, if in the United States, then just tell me your state and I'll link you some resources.
