This isn't really regarding accessibility so much as general usage. I feel this can be a bit tricky, as what constitutes as social media doesn't seem to be agreed upon.

Besides reddit, I really only use facebook and discord. If dating sites are counted as social media, then I also use okcupid and bumble.

Take care.

I mostly use Twitter. I believe that Reddit is more like multiple fora, so not really social media in the sense of we all post everything in one single place.

I'm on Mastodon! It's a great place; kind people, no ads and algorythms, described images most of the time.
If instant messengers count as social media now for some reason, then Discord, Matrix, Signal and Wire (very infrequent) join the list.

What type of social media is Mastodon? That is, is it a journalling platform, a forum, or something similar to Facebook?
Emmenias1 points1y ago
Microblogging. Similar to Twitter, but with a 500 character limit by default, higher on some instances. Conveniently, all URLs count for 23 characters regardless of length, and image captions have a separate limit (500 or 1000, I'm not sure).
It's federated, which means that instead of one mastodon.com there is multiple small instances that can communicate with each other. Sort of like different email providers. Ours is DragonsCave.space, if you're curious.

I have a few Mastodon accounts on different instances. I never use them though, because there isn't any way to filter all the tweets. If I want to look at Twitter, I can just go there. Well actually, I can just open the client.

I too hate crossposters, yeah. But what do you mean? Mastodon does have filters. Just set up a filter for twitter.com, and another for RT just to be sure, and you'll filter out the vast majority of it.

It's been a while since I've used Mastodon, I should go give this a try.

I would say that things like discord would count.

I use Facebook (via the mobile site, not app), Dreamwidth, and as of today, Reddit. I use Windows and NVDA.

Reddit, r/blind mostly, Twitter, Discord, whatsapp for music production, and I stumble my way through Telegram. Been looking into mastodon and meow.social. Tried using Tiktok but it gives me sensory overload

These days mostly reddit honestly that’s it. Sometimes facebook. I added someone on instagram to message but haven’t touched it and I need to get back on what’s app.
