Left eye issues (self.Blind)
submitted by Unusual_Werewolf981
Backstory for context:
1 pound 4 oz premature. Stage 3+ retinopathy of prematurity both eyes at 1 week old. Surgery: cryo/laser retinopexy left eye and right eye cryopexy. Due to this I have no peripheral vision.
A months old my left eye started going outwards so surgery was preformed to pull it back in.

Hi, since February 1st, I have been having issues with my left eye. I woke up with blurred vision and black floaters. Within 3 hours it got severely worse to the point where I couldn’t make out what things were and could only see the colors with spider webs floaters. I went to the er and then saw an eye dr who I’m currently seeing for this issue. Both drs said that I might have a hemorrhage. The dr tried to put that needle in my eye to drain the blood but after several attempts, I couldn’t do it. So we waited to see if it would clear up on its own. The blurry vision is gone and the floaters are not as bad but are still present. At another appointment in March, he said that my scans look better but recommended laser as a precaution. I told him that I am experiencing dimmed vision, black floaters and rainbow/hue vision on lights at night. He couldn’t figure out by I am having these issues so he sent me to my regular eye dr but scheduled the laser appointment. The other dr couldn’t find out the reasoning ever but agreed on the laser too. April 28th he did laser on my eye and it is now May 25th with no improvement. I have another eye appointment on the 26th to see what else will be done but I’m scared. Will this ever go away? It’s been 4 months now. I’m so frustrated and am currently on disability from work. I cut fruit and vegetables for a living in a grocery store and package them.

Thank you.

Can definitely learn to do that blind cut fruit and vegetables and do so much more. If it doesn’t go away adjust to the blind way and get training. For independent skills, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology.
